Head Coach & Founder of NoBeFit! (she/her)

Trauma Informed Weightlifting Certified; OPEX CCP L1; B.S. Exercise Science (IUP)

Hi! I’m Abby. I am the founder of NoBeFit! I played college tennis at IUP, have over 12 years of experience in the fitness industry & believe the best training builds more than strength - it builds trust in yourself. My own fitness journey shaped how I see myself and how I show up in the world. It taught me confidence, resilience, and how to keep moving forward when things felt uncertain. Having a coach who understood me as a whole person—not just an athlete—showed me how meaningful supportive coaching can be. These experiences ultimately led me to the coaching profession and to opening NoBeFit! in April 2018.

I’m a Bethel Park native, born and raised in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, and I care deeply about creating an environment where people feel comfortable, capable, and supported while building physical & mental strength in ways that actually fit their lives. At NoBe, coaching is thoughtful, individualized, and human - all with the goal of helping people build authentic lives they love.

Outside the gym, you’ll usually find me walking, spending time outside, playing tennis, running, watching anime, running some more or doing absolutely nothing. I take ice cream very seriously and firmly believe it’s best enjoyed every day…aaaaaand twice on Sunday.

Co-Owner & Head Coach (he/him)

Trauma Informed Weightlifting Certified

I’m a professional fitness coach with over 12 years of coaching experience, working with people across all backgrounds, abilities, and goals. I’ve spent most of my career in strength training, conditioning, and long-term lifestyle coaching, with a strong emphasis on movement quality, consistency, and sustainability.

I got into coaching because training changed my life, not just physically, but mentally. I love helping people build confidence in their bodies and learn how to trust themselves again. Coaching at NoBe feels special because it’s not about chasing extremes. It’s about meeting people where they are and helping them build something that actually fits their life. What’s most meaningful to me is watching someone realize they’re more capable than they thought, and then seeing that confidence spill into everything else they do.

I’m originally from El Paso, Texas, and outside the gym you’ll usually find me hiking, biking, or deep into a podcast about philosophy or human behavior. Fun fact: I’ve done CrossFit for over a decade but I’m just as happy taking long walks and doing nothing productive at all.

Registered Dietician (RD); ACE Group Fitness Instructor

My passion for nutrition, health and fitness drove me to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2005, and then my Dietetic Internship in 2006 with Adagio Health in Pittsburgh, PA. Four years after becoming a Registered Dietitian (RD) in May of 2008, I discovered the magic of the CrossFit world!  I had been working out routinely since the age of 12 but CrossFit is where I really developed my fitness identity. I completed my Group Fitness Instructor Certification through the American Council on Exercise in October of 2015. What I find most enjoyable about coaching at NoBe is the clients! One of my favorite things about coaching is when I get to prove them wrong- meaning, when clients don’t think they can do (for example) one more rep or a little more weight, and then magically- it happens!  It’s those moments that make the whole day for me!  When I am not working, you can find me working out, hiking in the woods, having coffee with friends, or doing something fun with my two kiddos!

I believe deeply in the power of movement to transform lives. Exercise has improved my own quality of life physically, mentally, and emotionally. It’s a joy and a privilege to watch the same transformation unfold in others. I love seeing people gain confidence, mobility, physical strength, and the mental fortitude that carries far beyond the gym.

Coaching at NoBe feels especially meaningful because of the community here. I’m constantly inspired by the people who walk through our doors and the way they show up for themselves and for each other. Being part of someone’s journey toward feeling stronger and more capable never gets old.

My professional background is in Accounting and Spanish. I’m from the South Hills of Pittsburgh, and when I’m not coaching, you’ll find me with my husband, my son, my dog, or friends - usually hiking, biking, swimming, running, cooking, or supporting local special-needs communities. I can’t sleep without a fan on, and a fun fact about me: I once served as an unofficial translator at a double wedding in Brazil!

Coach (she/her)

ACE Certified Health Coach; CPR/AED Certified

I grew up in Crozet, Virginia, but with fond memories and family here in Pittsburgh I made the move here Summer of 2024 and started coaching at NoBe. You'll find me exploring and gawking over nature’s beauty, hiking and biking, walking and paddle boarding, and coffee shop hopping in search of the best oatmilk chai latte and macarons around.

I pole vaulted in high school, which sparked my passion for both training and coaching. My coach took the time to see and understand me as an individual, and it built a foundation of trust that allowed for me to flourish.

What I enjoy most about coaching is connecting with others and seeking to understand their depth, learning what is most dear to them, and helping each individual take actionable steps toward meaningful change in their lives. NoBe has a fun and energetic vibe that made me felt right at home. Each hour, everyone is working through their own program, but yet they are all doing it together and it makes for a great time. It’s such a joy to see people surprise themselves as they uncover confidence and settle into the person they are proud of becoming.

I’ve spent over a decade working one-on-one with people in the beauty and wellness space, and it showed me how much I love helping others build healthy habits, confidence, and a lifestyle they genuinely feel good about. Coaching became the perfect place to continue that work on a deeper level. There was a time when movement felt uncertain for me, and I had to rebuild trust in my body step by step. That experience completely changed how I show up for myself and why helping others feel strong and capable means so much to me. Watching someone accomplish something they once doubted is my favorite part of coaching.

The community at NoBe makes it even more special. The energy is high, the support is real, and people of every age and fitness level show up for each other. I’m a “can never leave the South Hills” Pittsburgher, and when I’m not at the gym, you’ll probably find me on a local trail with my dog or at my spa reminding everyone to wear sunscreen.

Matt Day

Coach (he/him)

While not a native of Pittsburgh, since moving from the other side of PA to attend Duquesne University, I’ve been thrilled to call the Steel City my home.

I started my coaching journey in 2025 after surprising myself and joining NoBe in 2024 as a client. As someone who frequently struggled to make exercise a core part of my life, it was liberating to truly enjoy going to the gym for once. This led me to discover an insatiable appetite to learn about fitness and nutrition while helping others find their own place in the gym.

Coaching at NoBe is particularly rewarding due to the supportive and caring environment created by the coaches and the clients. It’s deeply meaningful for me to see clients consistently show up for themselves and implement sustainable lifestyle changes they can be proud of.

If you ever run into me outside of the gym, I’m likely going to be grabbing a matcha or buying treats for the two dogs who have taken over my house.
